Your Role

We are now looking for a maintenance mechanic with lathe skills for one of the world's most modern shipyards.

In your role as a maintenance mechanic, your main tasks will focus on the maintenance of surface ships. As a maintenance mechanic, you will work within areas such as: hydraulics, fan/valve/pump/motor maintenance, shaft pulling, rudder installation, pressure testing, etc. This makes the work very varied and provides good opportunities to develop your craft and professional knowledge.

Travel is required for this position.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is technically knowledgeable and enjoys solving problems both independently and in a team. You should have a good sense of customer service. To succeed as a mechanic with us, we see that you are cooperative, solution-oriented, and meticulous.

Requirements

• Upper secondary education in workshop technology or equivalent
• Manual lathe operation
• Ability to read drawings and schematics
• Good knowledge of materials
• Basic computer skills
• Class B driver's license

Meritorious Qualifications

• Previous experience working with overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile platforms.
• Flange/fastener connections and metrology.
• Experience in areas such as hydraulics/pneumatics, compressed air, and safety valves.
• Competence in material processing, including drilling, milling, and threading.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks applicable at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may in some cases entail citizenship requirements.
