The Maintenance Workshops (MvE) are a unit belonging to the brigade within the Army Staff, performing maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment and air base equipment, and delivering technical system support. This involves maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment inspection. The maintenance workshop unit delivers services according to customer requirements.

You will belong to Maintenance Workshop South, which operates in Revingehed, Ronneby, Karlskrona, and Tofta. Together, we are approximately 180 employees.

Main Responsibilities

As a technician in the Field Telecommunications Detail at Maintenance Workshop South, you will perform functional checks, troubleshooting, and repairs on the Swedish Armed Forces' communications equipment. The tasks include maintenance of soldier-carried, cabin-mounted, and vehicle-mounted telecommunication, radio, and command systems commonly found in our ground units. Many tasks (both troubleshooting and repair) take place in a computer/network environment in our telecommunications workshop. However, there are also assignments on-site with our units or in other locations under simpler field conditions.

Qualifications

• We are looking for you who have completed at least a two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on electricity/telecommunications/technology, or alternatively, competence acquired through professional experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
• Good computer skills.
• Category B driver's license.

Merits

• Documented experience in configuration and troubleshooting of computers and networks.
• Good knowledge in the field of telecommunications/radio communication as well as data technology/data communication, with the ability to independently perform troubleshooting and repair on these types of systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' telecommunication/radio/command systems.
• Category C driver's license.
• Military work permit.
• Previous experience with fiber optic installations and networks.
• Experience in electromechanics.

Other

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.

Working hours: Full-time, daytime – varying working hours may occur.

Location: Ronneby.

Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

The work also involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international.
