About the workplace
Resident Services is one of four departments within the Municipal Executive Administration and plays a vital role in creating value for the residents of Ale in their daily lives. Here you will find libraries, cultural schools, leisure activities, a contact center, events, and support for associations. Together, we work to create an attractive, inclusive, and vibrant municipality.
We are now looking for a Department Manager for Culture and Leisure Activities as well as the Contact Center who wants to lead and develop these operations in Ale Municipality.
Responsibilities
As Department Manager, you are responsible for the leadership, management, and development of the department's operations together with five unit managers. You are part of the Municipal Executive Administration's management group as well as the Municipal Chief Executive's management group. The assignment includes:
- Leading and developing operations based on the municipality's goals and political decisions.
- Driving development work and ensuring the implementation of ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Being responsible for operations, economy, personnel, and working environment.
- Creating conditions for an inclusive offering where all residents feel welcome.
- Supporting and developing your unit managers through clear and trust-based leadership.
- Collaborating with internal and external actors to strengthen the operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an academic degree and management experience with responsibility for operations and budgets. You have successfully led other managers and are well acquainted with the area of operations. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of the conditions in a politically governed organization. It is an advantage if you have led change and development work, collaborated with associations, organizations, and other societal actors, and participated in strategic management group work in a larger organization.
As a leader, you are secure, clear, and development-oriented. You create engagement and good conditions for your managers and employees to succeed. You are proactive, self-reliant, and have the ability to drive development and change. Furthermore, you work in a structured and quality-conscious manner with a focus on results and follow-up. You are service-oriented, have an easy time building trusting relationships, and collaborate successfully with various actors. With a good holistic view, you can ensure the best for both the operations and the municipality.
