Service-Oriented Staff Member for JO (Fixed-Term Contract)

Do you want a varied role where you can combine practical work, service, and problem-solving? At the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsmen (JO), you will become an important part of our internal service team, contributing to the smooth operation of daily activities. We are looking for you who are responsible, service-oriented, and thrive in a job where no two days are alike. You switch between planned tasks and quick interventions when needs arise. You enjoy helping others and creating good conditions for the organization.

What does the role entail?

As a staff member in internal service, you have a varied and important role where you contribute to the smooth operation of daily activities. You work closely with the operations and are responsible for both recurring routines and practical interventions that arise in daily work. The role includes, among other things:

  • handling mail and documents
  • receiving deliveries
  • placing orders and conducting inventories
  • providing office service and some conference service
  • performing simpler building and caretaker-related tasks
  • providing practical support to the operations
  • assisting with simpler administrative tasks, manning the reception, answering phones, etc.
  • ensuring that shared spaces and functions are well-functioning and appropriate
  • emptying dishwashers and, if necessary, performing some local cleaning
  • providing user support when connecting IT equipment, such as monitors, cables, and other technical equipment
  • helping with simpler settings for image, sound, and microphones
  • providing technical support in connection with digital meetings.

The work involves many contact points, both internally and externally. You have ongoing contact with colleagues and suppliers via email and phone and need to be able to handle both planned tasks and situations requiring quick solutions.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have good digital competence and feel confident providing simpler technical support to users. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and communicate clearly and professionally.

To succeed in the role, you work independently and take significant personal responsibility. You have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and carry out your tasks in a structured and efficient manner, even when the workload is high or multiple tasks need to be handled simultaneously. You are meticulous, have good judgment, and take initiative.

Since the role involves many contact points, it is important that you have excellent collaboration skills. You are service-oriented, lack pretension, and enjoy helping others. Your personal maturity, sense of responsibility, and problem-solving skills enable you to handle both planned tasks and unexpected situations in a secure and professional manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

It is meritorious if you have experience working in public sector operations, conference service, caretaking, or other practical service work. Knowledge of digital meeting technology and experience with video meetings in Skype and Skiffer is also considered an advantage.

The Employment

The employment is a special fixed-term appointment (SÄVA), full-time, for eight months. Start date is planned for August 17 or as otherwise agreed. JO applies individual salary setting and aims to provide equal opportunities for all, valuing equality and diversity in operations. We care about employees' conditions for balance between work and private life. Naturally, we offer a wellness allowance.

JO's premises are centrally located at Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. During a planned renovation (from autumn 2026), we will move the office to Sveavägen 25.
