Are you someone who is passionate about cooking and service and wants to be part of a dedicated team making a difference for school students every day? We are looking for you to work as a substitute cook or meal assistant in our preschools and schools.

Your Role

The kitchen currently consists of 1 kitchen manager, 3 cooks, and 5 meal assistants. In your role as a substitute cook or meal assistant, you will perform standard tasks in the large kitchen during the absence of regular staff. Together with your team, you ensure that lunch and snacks are served to approximately 1,150 students in grades F-9. You share responsibility for creating a pleasant dining experience for the students and contributing to the kitchen's daily operations. Your tasks include preparing cold vegetables, receiving and unloading deliveries, washing dishes, setting out lunch, replenishing food during service, cleaning up, and keeping the kitchen clean. You will also participate in serving snacks.

As an hourly substitute, you must be able to step in with short notice, whether for part of a day, a full day, or longer periods.

Your Experience

For the position of meal assistant, you are required to have:

• completed compulsory school education
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish

For the position of cook, you are required to have:

• relevant cook training
• HACCP experience within the last few years
• good digital competence
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish

Myrsjö School is beautifully located in nature in Saltsjö-Boo, about a mile from Stockholm. At the school, 150 people work with 1,230 students from preschool class to grade nine. We have three preschool classes where children in the afternoons go to after-school care together with their future classmates in grades 1-3. The school also has club activities for grades 4-6. Myrsjö School is a training school, which means the school hosts many teacher students from Stockholm University.
