Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Region of Västra Götaland and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Primary Care Hospital, Högsbo Primary Care Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. We are now looking for a nurse for Medicine Department 4 at Kungälv Hospital – a department where acute care, learning, and development meet.

We have a senior nurse function with clear clinical presence in everyday life. The function is part of our systematic work with patient safety, learning, and competence development, providing security for new colleagues as well as support and deepening for more experienced nurses.

This is Medicine Department 4

Medicine Department 4 is a broad internal medicine ward in an intensive development phase. Today, we have 28 care beds, of which 7 are an acute care unit (AVA), and 2 care beds will be used in the autumn to develop medical investigation.

We care for patients with:

• Internal medical conditions
• Surgical diagnoses

This means knowledge-intensive, varied, and developing work where you quickly build a strong clinical foundation. The work is characterized by variation, flexibility, and the opportunity to gradually broaden or deepen your role based on interest and experience.

In parallel with the ward, we are developing:

• Medical Investigation – daytime activity focusing on medical assessment, investigation, and coordination
• Close collaboration with the hospital's other medicine departments, including HIA and IMA, which offers the opportunity to work across several levels of care, follow the patient through the care chain, and deepen competence in more advanced care.

Together, this creates a cohesive whole where several levels of care collaborate – and where you as a nurse can develop and try new roles without having to change workplaces.

Your role as a nurse

With us, you work in a team with doctors, assistant nurses, and paramedics, supported by a senior nurse, in person-centered care focusing on quality, patient safety, and good collaboration.

The work is characterized by:

• Acute and sub-acute care flows
• Rapid care processes focusing on assessment, observation, and well-founded decisions
• Medical breadth and clinical assessments
• Clear team structure with shared responsibility for planning, implementation, and follow-up of care

Depending on your experience and interest, there is an opportunity to work regularly in nearby activities such as Medical Investigation, HIA, and IMA – always planned and structured.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and who:

It is an advantage if you have some years of experience working nights, as this places greater demands on independence.
