Your role

As a Submarine Mechanic at Saab, your primary responsibilities will focus on the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical installations within the new construction, conversion, and maintenance of submarines. As a mechanic, you will work in areas such as: hydraulics, valve/pump/motor maintenance, shafting, rudder installation, and pressure testing. Work is performed in the workshop as well as onboard ships. This makes the job highly varied and offers excellent opportunities to develop your craft and professional knowledge.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is technically skilled and enjoys solving problems both independently and in a team. You should have a good sense of customer service. To succeed as a mechanic with us, we see that you are cooperative, solution-oriented, and meticulous.

Requirements

• Upper secondary education in workshop technology or equivalent
• Ability to read drawings and schematics
• Good knowledge of materials
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

Merits

• Previous experience working with overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile platforms.
• Flange/fastener connections and measurement technology.
• Experience in areas such as hydraulics/pneumatics, compressed air, and safety valves.
• Competence in material processing, including drilling, milling, and threading.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
