We are currently seeking three student assistants for the Adapted Primary School in Hudiksvall. The school covers grades 1–6 (at Västra School) and grades 7–9 (at Östra School), both centrally located with easy access to nature trails, ski tracks, swimming pools, museums, and other city amenities. Approximately 60 students attend the unit next academic year, supported by a staff of around 60.

At the Adapted Primary School, students with intellectual disabilities or learning difficulties due to brain injury receive education tailored to their individual needs and prerequisites. The curriculum aims to mirror the standard primary school education as closely as possible, governed by a specific curriculum outlining goals, guidelines, course plans, and grading criteria.

Job Description

As a student assistant, you will support and guide several students in the pedagogical, physical, and social learning environment throughout the school day. For some students, support is also provided during after-school care hours. You will be present in the classroom, during breaks, at mealtimes, and during other school activities. You will work closely with teachers, other student assistants, and the school health team. Planning and follow-up occur daily, and you will participate in meetings and conferences as well as handle certain external contacts.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with prior experience working with students with intellectual disabilities. Knowledge of Sign Support (TSS) and Picture Communication is desirable. You work independently but value collegial learning. You are collaborative, responsible, curious, and eager to learn. You strive to create a safe learning environment where students gradually become more independent and develop their knowledge to the fullest extent possible.

Relevant work experience is an advantage, but personal suitability is prioritized. Education or previous experience in the field is taken into account.
