Your role

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will become an important part of our basic aircraft systems section. Here, we support and develop central systems within areas such as cooling, fuel, and engine – as well as being responsible for fire protection in our products GlobalEye, Saab 340 (incl. AEW&C), and Saab 2000 (incl. AEW&C).

You will:

• Work with
  • Analysis of fire risks associated with installations in the aircraft
  • Design support for increased fire safety
  • Reviews of design and hardware installations
  • Requirement compliance
• Contribute with
  • Knowledge of fire initiation, development, and spread.
  • Support in designing systems and installations that reduce the risk of fire.
• Be involved in the development of some of our most advanced products, such as GlobalEye, Saab 2000 AEW&C, and Saab 340 AEW&C
• Collaborate with several different technical areas and functions within Saab

Your profile

The following skills, attributes, and competencies are advantageous for the position:

• A Master of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree, or experience providing equivalent competence – you are preferably trained as a fire engineer
• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience working with one or more of the following:
  • Fire safety, system safety, and airworthiness
  • Product certification
  • Requirements specification and compliance for advanced systems
• Interest in aviation
• Experience working at Saab

You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in certain cases, entail citizenship requirements.
