Your Role

As part of our section, you will contribute electronic designs to all projects with electronic content. In this role, you will work on electronic design for our weapon systems, as well as civil applications in areas such as surveillance and security.

We are primarily looking for competence in optics, optoelectronics, and optomechanics. We would appreciate it if you understand how electronics and optics are integrated into precision mechanical solutions for our products, such as sights and optical zoom lenses.

Your tasks cover the entire development chain – from requirements management and design to the finished product. You also have excellent opportunities to develop within the area that interests you most, with a clear focus on developing highly reliable products that function in demanding environments with significant mechanical stress and varying temperatures.

The work is project-based and involves close collaboration with other technical areas, such as systems, mechanics, and software. Since we work at the absolute forefront of technology, it is important that you have strong knowledge in the field of electronics. We continuously invest in competence development and offer a wide range of training to create tomorrow's specialists and leaders.

In this role, you will work with electronic design, analysis and problem-solving, interpretation and breakdown of requirements, as well as support during testing and verification. The work also includes the creation of specifications, design descriptions, and reports.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is structured, quality-conscious, and enjoys driving work forward. You have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly. You view varied tasks as an opportunity for development, take initiative, and have an open attitude towards new challenges.

We expect you to have a university or civil engineering degree, several years of experience in design work, and practical experience in systems engineering, electronics, and measurement technology.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of 3D CAD and experience with construction methods for optics, electromechanics, and precision mechanics. Product knowledge and understanding of construction methods in demanding environments are also considered merits.

Your workplace and office are located in Karlskoga. The position may involve travel, both nationally and internationally.

The position requires you to undergo and pass security clearance according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
