Automation Engineer

About the Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will become an important part of the work to develop, maintain, and optimize our production in Karlskoga. You will work closely with both production and technical teams in a role where you contribute to increased operational reliability, efficiency, and technical development. The role is varied and combines operational tasks, such as troubleshooting and installation, with more analytical improvement and development work within our automation solutions.
You have many internal contact points and collaborate closely with, among others, production, maintenance, and technical functions. The role requires structure, problem-solving skills, and a strong safety mindset, ensuring that work is carried out according to current regulations and that documentation is kept up to date.
Examples of areas of responsibility and tasks:
- Programming and development of PLC and HMI systems
- Troubleshooting and conducting root cause analyses
- Installation and commissioning of machines, motors, and sensors
- Work with vision and machine learning systems
- Ensuring updated documentation during changes
- Risk assessment and work according to the Machinery Directive
- Involvement in CE marking of machines
Our Candidate
We are looking for someone who is technically curious and solution-oriented, with a strong drive to improve and develop automated processes. You work in a structured and meticulous manner and have the ability to analyze problems and turn insights into sustainable solutions. You thrive in a role with many contact points and enjoy collaborating with different functions within the business.
To succeed in the role, you have a couple of years of experience as an automation engineer, automation technician, or similar position within the industry. You are accustomed to working with PLC and HMI programming according to IEC 61131-3 and have good ability to read and understand CAD-based electrical schematics. Furthermore, you have experience with troubleshooting in automated facilities and understanding of control systems. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
The position requires Swedish citizenship, and a suitability investigation will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
