About the work and us

On the ward, we care for patients with hematological diseases; blood cancer and other blood disorders. We handle everything from investigations to inpatient chemotherapy treatments. An important part of the work is supportive treatment such as transfusions, infection treatment, and management of central lines.

On the ward's pulmonology section, we care for patients with lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumothorax, lung infections, and sleep-related breathing problems. We also handle some technical equipment, such as chest drains and BiPAP (bilevel) devices.

The unit provides both emergency care and palliative care. Patients come to us via the emergency department, hematological day care, the hematology clinic, from other hospitals, and via open return from home.

Qualifications

Our expectations of you as an applicant are that, in addition to being a licensed nurse, you are engaged, positive, and forward-looking. It is a great advantage if you already have a chemotherapy license; if not, you will receive this training after a period on the ward.

You have a genuine interest in working with people and are stimulated by challenges. A key prerequisite for everyone to thrive in the workplace is good and close collaboration among colleagues; here we expect you to be active and work towards achieving this. As a person, you are flexible, responsible, and solution-focused. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
