About Us

We are a small and family-like clinic where we value each other and step up when needed. The specialist physicians in our operations consist largely of former resident doctors who have chosen to stay, which we see as a strong indicator of our work environment and culture.

In recent years, we have made significant investments in internal training and supervision for our junior doctors and locum specialists. This work has yielded clear results and contributed to us advancing to the top tier of psychiatry placements in the resident ranking, something we are very proud of.

Within the psychiatric inpatient care in Halmstad, six experienced specialist physicians currently work together with several resident doctors and junior specialists. The operation comprises three wards:

• The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PIVA), which has ten beds and an emergency department directly adjacent.
• Ward 19, which is a general psychiatric ward with ten beds and patient-led admission spots.
• Ward 26, which is a general psychiatric unit with a special focus on geriatric psychiatry and psychotic disorders.

In addition to this, we are also responsible for ECT treatment and LARO (Long-Acting Release Antipsychotics) operations in our premises.

About the Role

You will serve as a specialist physician within the inpatient care and work in close collaboration with other staff and colleagues within the operation. The position includes participation in on-call duties as well as consulting work for the somatic clinics at Hallands Hospital.

The position involves working across all wards within inpatient care with the aim of contributing to stable and even staffing. Your primary placement is based at the inpatient care in Halmstad, but assignments may also occur at the operation's other wards in Varberg and at one of our outpatient clinics.

The work may occasionally involve you, together with other specialists, helping to cover vacancies, both with good notice and with shorter notice, which places demands on flexibility and adaptability.

As a clinic with a clear future focus, supervision is a central part of the role. You will supervise junior specialists as well as resident doctors, which presupposes an engagement in educational matters, an interest in knowledge sharing, and a desire to develop the next generation of colleagues.

Your own professional development is also important and is planned in dialogue with the Chief Medical Officer.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. You have a broad psychiatric interest and an engagement in development issues within the operation.

As a person, you are goal-oriented, structured, and confident in your professional role. You have good leadership qualities and a well-developed communicative ability that allows you to clearly convey your clinical assessments and decisions. This communicative ability is central, both in clinical work and in collaboration within the multiprofessional teams you are part of.

You have a strong clinical foundation and let your experience guide your work. At the same time, you have an open and non-hierarchical attitude and enjoy collaborating with other professions.

Previous and preferably longer experience of working as a specialist physician within psychiatric inpatient care is meritorious.
