The Administrative Court in Karlstad is a medium-sized court with approximately 45 employees, deciding around 6,000 cases annually. The court's jurisdiction includes Örebro County and Värmland County. The Administrative Court is co-located with Värmland District Court in centrally located and pleasant premises in the City Hall in Karlstad.
The Administrative Court handles approximately 500 different types of cases, including assistance cases, social insurance cases, tax cases, involuntary care cases, and procurement cases. The court has an important societal task to ensure that citizens receive a legally secure and efficient review of authority decisions.
The court works actively with development issues and strives to be a modern and open workplace with engaged and responsible employees.

Job Description
As a reporting judge (föredragande jurist), you are very significant for the court to be able to carry out its important societal task. You work with legal investigations, drafting proposals for judgments and decisions, reporting cases and proposals for decisions, and taking notes during oral hearings.
In addition, you prepare cases, take a stance on practical and procedural questions, and have contact with parties. The cases you work with can be very varied and sometimes require quick handling.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are
- trained as a notary at an administrative court, or
- trained as a notary at a general court and have experience working as a lawyer at an administrative court.
To succeed in the role of reporting judge, you need to have a high work capacity and good analytical skills. In situations with high workload, you are calm and stable and have the ability to prioritize your work and focus on the right things. Being flexible and quickly adapting to new circumstances is important.
In addition, you need to be careful and able to plan and prioritize among your tasks. It is a given that you care about quality and that you express yourself very well in the Swedish language, both in writing and verbally.
You enjoy and are good at collaborating with your colleagues at the court while having a very high capacity to work independently.

We require a high level of security awareness, that you follow the state's values, and have resilience against undue influence. A background check may be required prior to employment.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment, 6 months with the possibility of extension.
Scope: Full-time
Start date: September 1, 2026. It is important that the employment can start on the specified date, but after agreement, a later start date may become relevant.
