About Björktorpsskolan

Björktorpsskolan consists of two school buildings with a large, pleasant schoolyard between them. The school has just over 550 students from preschool class up to grade 6.

Our key words are collaboration and cooperation. At our school, you rarely work alone. We are located centrally in Eskilstuna, close to green areas, the train station, and the city center. Here, we prioritize working conditions and have a high level of well-being within the work team. An inclusive environment characterized by curiosity and engagement defines our approach. Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to teach Art, Science (NO), and Home Economics for grades 4-6.

When you open the door to the school, you are greeted by teachers who co-plan, discuss, and challenge each other through structured development work as well as spontaneously in daily life. Our teachers are experienced in working with group processes in constant change. It is important that you are open to changes occurring in your teaching groups.

As a teacher, you are an important part of the student's school journey. We feel secure with each other in the work group and dare to challenge each other both socially and pedagogically. The student health team is a natural part of everyday life and is always nearby. Our great passion for students and colleagues enables us to create a safe and inclusive school.

Qualifications

You have a teaching degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach grades 4-6 in the relevant subjects, or alternatively, you are currently studying and will complete your education shortly. We would appreciate that you have experience in practical work based on the current curriculum. It is an advantage if you have current experience of teaching in schools.

For the role, it is important that you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and feel confident using IT as part of your teaching.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You are a leader who can adapt your leadership style in the classroom to the situation and can plan and follow up on your work. Communicating with both adults and children feels natural to you. We believe that you want to develop in your role as a teacher and contribute to the school's continued development. You are a committed employee with good collaboration skills, able to build trust and listen to different needs.
