Student Assistant for Student with Medical Needs
Make a difference in the daily life of a student with medical needs.
IES Eskilstuna is looking for an engaged and reliable student assistant who wants to make a difference. In the role of student assistant, your main task is to work with a single student in grades F-3 who has care needs. The role involves being a close support for the student during the school day and at the after-school center, with a focus on ensuring a safe and functional daily routine both in the classroom and during breaks.
Responsibilities
- Support the student in their schoolwork and adapt activities according to needs
- Be a safe and present support during the school day and after-school hours
- Collaborate closely with teachers, guardians, and medical personnel to ensure a safe and stimulating school environment
- Act as support for other students when needed
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience working with children in primary school. You have completed upper secondary care education or have equivalent experience. Previous experience with the above responsibilities is a requirement, and you need knowledge and experience regarding children with diabetes. You are sensitive, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You easily create good relationships and collaborate with the student, guardians, work team, the school's student health team, and school leadership.
You are driven by a desire to see opportunities for improvements for both the student and your colleagues, as well as for your own operations. You have the ability to quickly adapt to new or changed requirements and conditions. Working together with others in a cohesive team with an open work climate is something you appreciate and value.

- Are calm, patient, and sensitive
- Have the ability to create security and anticipate situations that may affect the child's well-being
- Preferably have education as an assistant nurse or other relevant background
- Have knowledge and experience regarding children with diabetes
