About Npof

Npof is a government agency established in 2020. The Board's mandate is to investigate and assess issues regarding research misconduct. The Board aims, through its operations, to uphold good research practice and thereby maintain trust in Swedish research and in Sweden as a leading research nation. Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to investigate and present cases of research misconduct to the Board, which is the decision-making body of the agency. The task involves several different steps, such as handling and investigating cases, communicating with the accused, complainants, experts, and research heads, drafting decision proposals and presenting them to the Board, and writing statements to courts in cases that are appealed, together with a lawyer.

You will handle cases within your field of research, but since we are a small organization, you will occasionally handle cases in other research fields. The person we are looking for should complement the team of case officers we currently have and serve as a resource in handling the cases coming to the Board.

You will contribute to the development of the operations in both strategic and operational matters. This could concern, for example, the assessment process or our annual report.

You will also participate in seminars, conferences, and other communication and information efforts, and therefore need to feel confident in representing the agency in external contexts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in independent research activities after the PhD.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

  • Knowledge and practical experience of working with issues regarding good research practice.
  • Experience in writing decision proposals.
  • Experience in coordinating and/or handling research or research funding grants.

Who are you?

To succeed in the role, you have a genuine interest in research ethics issues and Swedish research, good judgment, and high integrity. You have very good analytical skills, a methodical working approach, and you are a good writer who masters Swedish very well. You have the ability to compile, structure, and assess the relevance of extensive and complex material.

The work requires good skills in collaboration and independent work, and that you have a professional attitude, are structured, careful, responsible, flexible, non-hierarchical, service-oriented, and solution-oriented. You contribute to a good atmosphere in the work group.
