Are you driven by seeing others develop and want to make a difference for children and young people? The opportunity is here! We are now looking for an engaged, licensed psychologist to join our student health services. You will become a central function and a vital link between the various units working to strengthen our students. Here you are given excellent opportunities to shape and further develop operational areas. We warmly welcome your application!

Job Responsibilities

As a school psychologist, you will investigate students' needs and plan interventions in collaboration with the respective principal and student health team. These interventions should contribute to each student reaching their knowledge goals and being given the conditions to develop as an individual. We view the promoting and preventive work as central to this, which may involve supervision and consultation, as well as educating staff, guardians, and students on various issues.

In your role, you will also be responsible for creating and developing overarching strategies and routines for working with children with diagnoses, those facing exclusion, and those with mental health issues. You are also responsible for maintaining good contact with external functions, such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). The position also includes time for competence development in the form of environmental scanning to follow current research, for example.

You belong to the Central Team, which consists of school nurses, school counselors, study and career counselors, IT pedagogues, IT support, coordinators in school social teams, and the manager. You will also participate in our local student health teams, whose primary task is to work from a preventive and health-promoting perspective. The local student health teams are led by the principal at each respective school, meaning you will work both under the instruction of your direct manager and our principals. The placement for this position is in Svenstavik, but your work will also involve traveling to other schools within the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have experience conducting developmental assessments and/or neuropsychiatric investigations. If you have specialized education in educational psychology or neuropsychology, this is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience working in schools and/or with children and young people, as well as experience in supervision and consulting work. You should have good verbal and written communication skills, as well as good knowledge of handling IT systems. Furthermore, you need to have good knowledge of the school's governing documents. A driver's license for passenger cars (Category B) is required.

Bergs Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we therefore consider knowledge of the South Sami language and culture to be an advantage.

Personal Qualities

You have good leadership qualities and are accustomed to collaborating, but also have the ability to work independently. You are good at conducting analyses and prioritizing and delimiting your tasks based on these. As a person, you are calm, responsible, structured, and have a positive attitude towards an inclusive way of working. You can act according to your own convictions, plan and drive your work independently, and convey your professional assessment adapted to the recipient. We also see that you are a curious person who enjoys working where there are opportunities for influence, change, and development.
