About the position

Residents of Jämtland County who require specialist psychiatry receive their treatment in outpatient or inpatient care within the psychiatry department at Östersund Hospital. The staff at these units have a significant responsibility for developing and improving care in collaboration with the department's management. There are approximately 270 employees in the department in total.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a licensed psychologist for our inpatient wards 4A and 4B. The main tasks include assessment work, short-term treatment/counseling interventions, and supervision of staff and students within inpatient care. You will participate in rounds and serve as an active and important resource for patient care planning on the ward and during transitions to outpatient care.

Assessments are conducted independently or as joint assessments with other professional groups such as doctors, nurses, or other healthcare personnel. Some limited investigative work may occasionally occur, in consultation and joint planning with the clinic's investigation team. There is an opportunity to help create and develop meaningful inpatient care and openness to your own ideas about the psychologist's role in inpatient care.

In addition to work within inpatient care, you may have tasks to support outpatient care in the form of group therapy, intensive treatments, targeted interventions, or supporting our mobile team SPOT, which often works on assignments related to inpatient care.

The work requires good collaboration skills. The clinic has a collaboration with MIU's psychology program, which involves the participation of psychology graduates and psychology assistants in patient work. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you have experience with and enjoy a supervisory role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with an interest and commitment to psychiatry. Meritorious is relevant specialist training or senior competence. We would appreciate it if you have previous experience or interest in psychological work within psychiatry or psychiatric inpatient care.
