Welcome to us

At the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör District Administration, approximately 2,800 employees work together. You will be part of the Urban Environment unit alongside parking engineers, project managers, urban planners, and investigators. From autumn 2026, we will take over park and nature maintenance in-house, giving you a unique opportunity to help build a modern and sustainable park operation focused on biodiversity, electric machinery, and smart working methods. The positions are permanent with a start date in autumn 2026.

Your role

As a Park Worker, you contribute to creating a well-maintained and pleasant environment for the residents of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör with the goal of working long-term, sustainably, and circularly. The operation is under construction, and here you will be part of the development of the new unit by contributing your knowledge and suggesting improvements. Together, you will focus on designing efficient and climate-smart working methods and sustainable operations that provide value for the residents and the environment in the area.

Your tasks will vary throughout the year and may include, for example:

  • Green area maintenance, such as mowing and weed removal
  • Cleaning
  • Pruning of trees and bushes
  • Hedge trimming
  • Planting of trees, bushes, perennials, etc.
  • Patrolling and supervision of playgrounds, dog parks, and outdoor gyms
  • Maintaining and repairing park and playground equipment
  • Supervising holiday youth workers

Since a large part of the work is outdoors, it is important that you enjoy working outside regardless of the weather. Both the role and the unit are new and under development, which means other tasks may occur. You have fixed working hours, and weekend work may occur in connection with holidays and peak seasons.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • More than 3 years of documented and current experience in practical work with park and green area maintenance
  • Experience in park work within public operations or commissioned by a public client, such as a municipality, region, or state agency
  • Current experience working with ride-on mowers, implement carriers, and handheld machines such as trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers
  • Category B driver's license for passenger cars
  • Communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in, for example, gardening or landscaping, or other education deemed suitable by the employer for the position
  • Experience and knowledge of nature conservation maintenance
  • Knowledge and interest in working climate-consciously and circularly with green issues
  • Experience and qualification for using chainsaws (level AB) and brush cutters (level RA)
  • Knowledge of maintenance of handheld machines
  • Knowledge in craft services, such as carpentry, welding, and painting
  • Training in playground safety, SS-EN 1176, and SS-EN 16630 for outdoor gyms
  • Training in hot work
  • Training in road work level 1 and 2.

As a Park Worker, you meet the residents of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör daily and are the face of the district. Therefore, good service and a friendly attitude are a matter of course for you, as is being driven by the desire to create pleasant and well-maintained outdoor environments. You are enduring, work independently, and enjoy working outdoors. You enjoy collaborating in a team with colleagues and have the ability to easily adapt to changed tasks and priorities.
