Your daily life as a Security Clearance Officer
In the role of Security Clearance Officer, you are responsible for carrying out and developing all parts of the security clearance process. A large part of the work consists of conducting in-depth security clearance interviews, follow-up security conversations, as well as security conversations during special events or needs. The interviews place high demands on your ability to steer the conversation towards relevant issues while creating a trusting conversational climate. The role requires that you have a good ability to listen, analyze, and pay attention to both what is expressed and what remains unsaid. Security clearances are conducted both internally within the agency and externally.
The role also includes planning and conducting educational initiatives within the security clearance area, as well as providing support and advice to managers and operations regarding security clearance matters.
Together with your colleagues, you also contribute to the strategic development of the security clearance operations. This means developing methods, routines, regulations, and educational materials to ensure a legally secure, uniform, and efficient security clearance process.
The location is Eskilstuna. The position requires presence at the workplace, so remote work is not an option. Travel is included in the position and is mainly planned and carried out with ample notice.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education in the security field or other education that the employer considers equivalent and relevant for the position. Furthermore, you have several years of current experience in planning and conducting structured interviews. To succeed in the role, you need to be proficient in working with administrative IT support systems and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A Class B driver's license is required.
It is meritorious if you have post-secondary education in behavioral science, intelligence operations, or conversation and interview techniques. Furthermore, knowledge of security protection legislation as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' and/or the Swedish Security Service's regulations within security services is meritorious. We would also appreciate if you have experience in operational security work, preferably from a defense-related or law enforcement authority.
Your personal qualities are very important to us. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a person, you have a very good ability to take initiative, drive your work, and make your own priorities, both short-term and long-term. You process, analyze, and assess information, which requires you to be analytical and able to make objective assessments. You should have an aptitude for critical thinking and an interest in human behavior. You are also meticulous and have a structured approach to work. You will handle tasks with high confidentiality, which requires you to have a high level of security awareness and integrity.
