Do you want to work extra in the kitchen while making a difference in people's daily lives? You are warmly welcome as a substitute chef in our municipal kitchens in Örnsköldsvik Municipality.

We are looking for chefs for our care kitchens, restaurants, school, and preschool kitchens. Here you will have a varied job where no day is the same, contributing to safe, pleasant, and nutritious meals for our guests.

About the work as a chef

  • Preparations and work in the kitchen throughout the day.
  • Cooking meals, special diets, and various consistencies.
  • Preparing root vegetables, greens, salads, etc.
  • Line service and guest interaction in the dining hall.
  • Dishwashing, cleaning, and other daily kitchen tasks.
  • Following hygiene routines according to self-control regulations.
  • Working in our digital systems.
  • Ordering, receiving, and handling goods.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has chef training or a strong interest in developing your skills.
  • Has experience working in a kitchen – or a willingness to learn the trade.
  • Has basic knowledge of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension, which we consider important for communication, safety, and instructions.
  • Is responsible, flexible, and able to step in where needed.
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has basic computer skills and the willingness to work with diet data programs.

The Consultancy and Service Administration provides support and services to the administrations in our areas of property, operations and service, catering, IT, and administrative support services.

In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Tax Agency, or another ID document that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required. We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are classified for security, so a security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
