School Librarian

The position is a 50% role as a librarian at Praktiska Gymnasiet in Linköping.

We are looking for you who have strong pedagogical skills and can guide students in searching for, analyzing, and critically evaluating information. You are socially competent and want to create a welcoming environment for all students. You are structured and can contribute to the school's systematic quality work. You enjoy co-planning with teachers to make the library a natural part of the teaching. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability. For us, your personal commitment and genuine interest in seeing every student grow, based on their unique prerequisites, are crucial for success in the role.

The role includes promoting reading and language development, as well as contributing to students' development of media and information literacy (MIL), for example through teaching in source criticism, information seeking, and digital competence in collaboration with teachers. The school library is an important resource in students' knowledge development, and you are involved in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching-related initiatives.

As a school librarian, you work based on Praktiska Linköping's school library plan and are an active part of the school's planning and systematic quality work. The role also includes standard school library duties such as media management, collection development, and environmental scanning, as well as communication and marketing of the school library activities. You ensure that the operations comply with the Education Act, the curriculum, the Library Act, as well as the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act. An extract from the police record of convictions is required for the position.
