Unit Economist for the Air Combat School's Development Unit Air Combat (UTV Luft)

About the UTV Luft Unit

To maintain the Air Force's operational capability, the combat forces' operational units require continuous development both in the short and long term.

UTV Luft belongs to the Air Combat School (LSS) and carries out the Air Force's capability development regarding technology, tactics, and methods for all Air Force units and functions. The operations span from studies, experiments, and materiel development to concept development and capability introduction at operational units.

Applying Department

The position is located in the Planning Department (PlanA) at LSS UTV Luft. The tasks within the department include operational planning and follow-up, operational safety, logistics, economy, security service, publication service, etc. The department consists of eleven positions, both military and civilian, split between the unit's two operational locations (Uppsala and Linköping), with domestic travel to Linköping being common.

About the Position

As the unit's economist, you have a significant role and are the chief of UTV Luft's foremost representative in the economic area. You will advise on the unit's economy and play an important role in planning and follow-up work, as well as contribute to the development of the unit's forms and routines regarding economic management.

Main Tasks and Areas of Responsibility

You will work with the economy from both a long-term perspective and with specific operational economic issues. Your role is central to the unit's planning, budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up. You create decision support materials and prepare matters that affect or are affected by UTV Luft's economy. You support the managers at UTV Luft and also the Chief Economist at the Air Combat School.

Qualifications

• University-level education in economics or equivalent education assessed by the employer
• Relevant experience in economic processing, economic administration, follow-up, and/or budgeting, or experience assessed by the employer as equivalent
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Category B driver's license (manual)

We are looking for you who are a non-hierarchical team player with a good ability to work both in teams and independently, and who has the ability to make your own decisions and take initiatives. You find it easy to establish new contacts both within and outside your own organization. You should be prepared to handle different tasks in several different areas and under short timeframes. You work independently and structured with a good sense of order, and as a person, you are driven and solution-oriented.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Experience with the PRIO system (SAP)
• Experience/education regarding security service
• Experience of economic work from the Swedish Armed Forces or other state administration
