We are now looking for Summer Substitutes for our operations within Elderly Care, who will substitute during the summer holiday periods in 2026.
At the Social Services Administration, we work with people; we are responsible for the care of the elderly and people with disabilities. Those of us who work here help each other in our common goal to provide the best possible service and care to the residents of Vimmerby Municipality. A summer job with us means that you will gain useful work experience and the opportunity to make new contacts. We have fair employment conditions, and as a new summer substitute, you will undergo an introductory training before the summer.
Job Description
The tasks involve facilitating daily life for people who, due to age or illness/disability, need support to manage in everyday life. The main principle is to provide support and help based on the user's approved measures, self-determination, and participation. The work consists of support and help with personal care and service measures. Personal care can include, for example, shower assistance, morning, evening, and night assistance. Service measures can include, for example, cleaning. The tasks also include documentation in our documentation system, Lifecare, as well as performing health and medical care tasks after delegation by the responsible nurse.
Working hours are distributed during the day/evening/weekends and night shifts.
Home Care
Home care is a collective term for various forms of care, support, service, and security that we provide in the user's home. The home care service performs the measures that the social worker has assessed that the user needs. What is to be performed for the user at each visit is found on a schedule in your work phone. Six groups work in Vimmerby and four groups work in the outer areas.
Care and Support Housing
We help users with support and assistance with personal care, meal assistance, and service measures. There is a large facility in Vimmerby, one in Storebro, and one in Södra Vi. The wards are divided by different physical disabilities, dementia diagnosis, short-term units, and daily activities.
Night Shifts in Home Care and Care Housing
Night shifts involve working either within a night patrol that drives around the municipality or within a care and support housing facility that meets the users' needs at night.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have education within the Nursing Program, Leisure Leader Education, Child and Leisure Program, Therapeutic Pedagogue Education, or equivalent education.
- Experience from the area of operation is meritorious.
- For home care and night shifts, a Class B driver's license is a requirement. A Class B driver's license is also desirable for care and support housing.
In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and interest in the position. As a person, you are responsible and flexible, you have a service-oriented approach and a positive attitude with a good and respectful manner. It is important that you can work independently, while also having good teamwork skills. The work also requires documentation, so you must be computer literate and must master the Swedish language in speech and writing. If you speak additional languages, it is a positive.
The position is subject to ID control.
