Do you want to work extra in the kitchen and at the same time make a difference in people's daily lives? Then you are warmly welcome as a substitute in our municipal kitchens in Örnsköldsvik Municipality.
We are looking for you who want to work extra as kitchen assistants on an hourly basis in our municipal care kitchens, restaurants, school, and preschool kitchens. Here you will get a varied job where no day is like the other, and where you contribute to safe, pleasant, and nutritious meals for our guests.
About the job as a kitchen assistant
- Simple cooking, baking, and packaging of meals.
- Preparation of vegetables, root vegetables, and potatoes. Making salads, dressings, etc.
- Preparing for upcoming cooking days.
- Working in the serving line during service, refilling, keeping clean, and assisting guests.
- Handling dirty and clean dishes, washing dishes in our various types of dishwashers.
- Cleaning, washing, and performing other daily kitchen tasks.
- Following hygiene routines according to self-control regulations.
- Working in our digital systems.
- Handling goods that arrive at or are sent out from the kitchen.
We are looking for you who:
- Have some experience from working in a kitchen – or the willingness to learn the job as a kitchen assistant.
- Have basic knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, which we consider important for communication, safety, and instructions.
- Are responsible, flexible, and able to step in where needed.
- Enjoy working both independently and together with others.
- Have some computer skills and understanding of working in diet software programs.

In the Consulting and Service Administration, we provide support and services to the administrations in our areas of property, operations and service, catering, IT, and administrative support services.
In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency or another ID document that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required. We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security class, so security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
