About the role

Vesta Si is part of the SKF Group and manufactures, develops, and delivers advanced ceramic powders and materials that play a key role in industrial products with high demands for precision and performance, particularly within ball and roller bearings.

In Ljungaverk, approximately 25 employees work, and in this role, you will collaborate closely with both other colleagues in the laboratory and colleagues in other parts of the business. The collaboration is characterized by structure, a quality mindset, and continuous improvement.

You will be employed as a consultant through Academic Work and work on behalf of Vesta Si. The assignment is long-term, and for the right person, there are good opportunities for further development within the company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily work with routine analysis of ceramic powders within quality control. This also includes documenting and reporting analysis results, performing maintenance of laboratory equipment, and contributing to order and structure in the laboratory environment.

You will mainly:

  • Perform routine analysis of ceramic powders within quality control
  • Document and report analysis results in the company's systems
  • Perform routine maintenance of the laboratory's equipment
  • Ensure good order and tidiness in the laboratory environment
  • Support other parts of the business with process development work

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a technical or scientific education at the secondary school level
  • Has good laboratory experience, preferably from a materials, physics, or chemistry lab
  • Has good computer and system skills
  • Has good knowledge of English in both speech and writing, as this is the corporate language

It is an advantage if you have:

  • A post-secondary education, preferably in materials science, physics, or chemistry
  • Experience from manufacturing industry
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015
  • Other language skills besides English

We would appreciate if you have knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Analysis of ceramic materials
  • Analysis of powdered materials

And within one or more of the following analysis techniques:

  • X-ray diffraction
  • X-ray fluorescence
  • Specific surface area by gas adsorption (BET)
  • Particle size measurements
  • Carbon and oxygen measurements using combustion techniques
  • Wet sieving of powders
