Mittuniversitetet, located in the South Sami area of Saepmie, is now recruiting a Research Assistant for the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The department operates across campuses in Sundsvall and Östersund, offering research and education in subjects such as English, Gender Studies, History, Criminology, Literary Studies, Social Studies, Sociology, Political Science, and Swedish as a Second Language.
Responsibilities
The position involves research within the framework of an interdisciplinary project studying individuals' perceptions of air pollution and various forms of political regulation used to mitigate these issues. Key tasks include conducting focus group interviews and writing reports.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must meet the requirements specified in Mittuniversitetet's employment regulations. Eligibility for the position of Research Assistant in Political Science requires a master's degree in Political Science or a closely related field.
Other Requirements
We are looking for candidates with professional experience in similar roles, including experience in collegial work within an academic environment and experience conducting focus group interviews. Proficiency in both English and Swedish, in writing and speech, is required.
As the role involves various tasks, you must be able to work independently, plan your work effectively, and demonstrate strong collaborative skills.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on the level of skill required for eligibility. Experience working with interdisciplinary questions is considered an advantage, and experience with research related to air pollution is particularly advantageous.
Employment and Start Date
The position is a fixed-term appointment covering 100% of full-time hours from 2026-08-17 to 2027-01-17, or as agreed. The workplace is in Östersund.
