About our open position

We are now looking for a nurse for our surgical outpatient clinic. As a nurse at our surgical outpatient clinic, you play a central role in the patient's care process, from initial contact to follow-up after treatment. The work is varied and combines independence with close teamwork.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Reception work – telephone advice, triage, and your own nurse-led clinic.
• Preparation and follow-up – inform patients before surgical procedures and follow up after treatment.
• Collaboration – work in multidisciplinary teams regarding the patient's needs.

The work may also include:

• Operation planning – coordinate and plan patients' surgeries in close collaboration with doctors and other professions.
• Contact nurse duties – act as a permanent care contact for patients, provide support and information, and ensure continuity throughout the care pathway.

The work requires good structure, communication skills, and a person-centered approach.

About us

The surgical outpatient clinic is an open care clinic for patients of all ages who have symptoms and conditions assessed as surgical and require investigation and/or treatment within the surgical operations. Nurses, assistant nurses, and stoma therapists work at the clinic.

The surgical outpatient clinic is divided into several teams based on diagnosis groups such as colorectal, vascular, breast/melanoma, and upper gastrointestinal. Although we who work at the unit are more focused on one or several teams, we see the importance of working together as a whole. We work to develop and drive the surgical clinic's outpatient care forward. This may involve new forms of day care or digital care meetings.

We have a high level of ambition regarding further education and training within the different professions and would be pleased if you, as an applicant, wish to contribute together with other colleagues to developing the surgical outpatient care for the citizens of Södra Älvsborg.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with experience in the profession and a burning interest in surgical care. Experience of surgical care and reception work is meritorious. You have good teamwork skills and personal maturity with an interest in meeting patients and relatives in difficult life situations. You have a flexible and independent working style. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
