We are looking for a driven and innovative music teacher

Are you a driven and innovative music teacher who is passionate about your subject while also having the drive to help every student succeed based on their individual prerequisites? Then this is the position for you!

Scope of the position and responsibilities

The role of music teacher includes music instruction at Gullstensskolan (grades 7–9) as well as at the intermediate level in Gullspång. Additionally, you will teach one day a week at Älgarås school, located approximately 3.5 miles from Gullspång.

Gullspång Municipality is actively working to implement music instruction in half-class formats. We believe this will enable greater artistic freedom for the students and provide teaching teachers with the opportunity to observe each student to a greater extent.

In addition to teaching, you will be responsible for planning and implementing cultural elements during school closures and other non-scheduled days, such as Lucia Day. This is done in close collaboration with the municipality's culture school. In the long term, the position will also involve mentorship in a middle school class together with a teaching colleague.

You will also participate in conferences and the school's development work.

Qualifications and merits

• Qualified music teacher for intermediate and upper secondary levels.
• Additional qualifications within the music subject or another school subject are meritorious but not required.
• Goal-oriented, receptive, responsible, and with good organizational skills, as you will work largely independently within your specific subject.

What we offer

Gullspång Municipality offers a wellness allowance of 1,500 SEK/year, the opportunity for further development within the professor program, and weekly collegial development work within the framework of the unit's and the employer's needs. Currently, this takes place within the framework of the Swedish Schools Inspectorate's targeted support with Karlstad University as the educational institution.

Salary and employment

As a qualified teacher in practical-esthetic subjects, you can expect a salary between 41,000 – 46,000 SEK depending on previous experience and competence. Individual salary setting applies.
