About the Job

Do you want to become one of our key special educators within the Child and Student Health Service (Primary School) in Lidköping Municipality? We are currently seeking a special educator for our unit. The prerequisites for the role are good, with the main focus on preventive and health-promoting efforts in close dialogue with the principal and other colleagues in the student health team.

Responsibilities

The special educator works in the student health team together with the school counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist, operating at the school unit in close collaboration with the principal and teachers. Your primary task will be to work health-promoting and preventive. As a special educator, you will, together with the principal, the Student Health Team (SHT), and teachers, strive for a good pedagogical learning environment with the goal that all students feel well, develop according to their prerequisites, and reach as far as possible. We emphasize the importance of starting from the students' interests, motivation, and desire to learn.

The work as a special educator is multifaceted and includes, among other things, providing expertise in school development issues, collaborating with teachers and the principal to find successful working methods that benefit student learning, mentoring staff, and contributing to pedagogical assessments. As a special educator, you bring a special educational perspective to the analysis of mandatory assessment materials, evaluation support, and national test results. You also contribute your expertise to the planning of continued pedagogical work, including guidance, stimulation, and extra adjustments. You will also participate in transitions within and between units and operations.

In addition to working at the school unit, you will belong to a professional group with the department's special educators. In this group, you collaborate with special educators from preschool and primary school. This involves, among other things, working on issues concerning your own profession and conducting quality and development work.

All our professions within the Student Health Team (SHT) have defined main tasks that are anchored within the profession, the principal group, and our trade unions. This creates clear expectations regarding the roles in the operations and how the profession is utilized.

We are looking for you who are educated as a special educator or are currently undergoing education. You can work both broadly organizationally and with individual students or groups. You are a present, attentive, clear, and organized person who acts without hierarchy and has the ability to create engagement, trust, and participation. You are structured, work goal-oriented, and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You easily build good relationships and are a qualified conversation partner in pedagogical matters with students, guardians, colleagues, and other actors. You see opportunities in changes, have a positive and accommodating approach, and take great responsibility for your tasks.

You have good verbal and written skills and experience and knowledge of systematic quality work. You use proven experience and research to analyze and evaluate results as a basis for improvement work at various levels; children's and students' learning, teaching practice, as well as organization and routines. You are accustomed to using digital tools and compensatory aids in teaching.

A driver's license and access to a private car are required.

Police Certificate

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are required to present a certificate from the police regarding your criminal record for work in the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in activities other than school and childcare, work with children under the LSS Act, work at or in connection with residential homes for youth (HVB), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the certificate via the Police website. The certificate must be presented before employment can begin.
