Meals within Region Gotland play a vital role in schools, elderly care, and healthcare. By planning, cooking, and delivering food, the Food Department contributes to good living conditions, health-promoting care, and a secure, equitable, and inspiring learning environment. The meals create value for the region's citizens every day.

Every day, the department plans, cooks, delivers, and serves approximately 11,000 portions of food to children and students in preschools and schools, to users in elderly care, and to patients in healthcare.

Kitchen Area 5 is part of the Food Department and consists of seven school kitchens in and around Visby. We are currently looking for a new employee for the kitchen at Södervärn School.

At Södervärn School, dedicated and experienced staff work together, preparing meals daily for approximately 1,000 guests, both for the school restaurant and for distribution to preschools and schools.

Your Responsibilities

As a kitchen assistant, you work with planning, preparing, and serving meals according to given guidelines. The work is carried out in an efficient and economical manner with a focus on good quality. The goal is to provide our guests with safe, nutritious, varied, and sustainable meals with good taste, pleasant presentation, and good service in a pleasant environment.

The work includes various tasks such as:

• preparation of raw ingredients
• dishwashing
• serving
• post-service cleanup
• contact with internal and external stakeholders

The work is always carried out according to established routines, guidelines, and current regulations, such as self-control and hygiene routines. You participate in various kitchen tasks and sometimes in other kitchens within the Food Department. You actively contribute to improvements in service and quality. As needed, you may also participate in various projects and development work.

We strive to create conditions for stimulating work and an operation that can handle changes well; therefore, other tasks may be added based on your competence and the kitchen's needs.

For the position of kitchen assistant within the Food Department, the starting salary range is 27,000–30,500 SEK per month. We apply individual salary setting. The final salary is determined based on education, relevant experience, competence, and responsibility in the role, as well as consideration of the current collective agreement.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who preferably have education within the restaurant and meal service sector, for example, a three-year upper secondary education with a focus on restaurant, a vocational education (KY), or other education and/or experience that we assess as equivalent.

A Category B driver's license is meritorious for the position. You preferably have a few years of experience working in a large kitchen, and knowledge of special diets is meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is self-reliant, stable, and takes responsibility for your tasks. You work in a structured manner and have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work. You enjoy collaborating with others, are service-oriented, and have a professional and courteous demeanor in contact with colleagues, guests, and other partners.
