Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Area 4, and has a clear coordination mandate for the entire Region of Västra Götaland. The organization consists of the laboratory medicine operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Hospital Group.

About the Role

The unit's laboratories are located at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås and Skene, with a total of approximately 60 employees (biomedical analysts, assistant nurses, chemists, IT, and administrative staff). The smaller laboratory in Skene is staffed during daytime hours, while operations in Borås run 24/7. Here, you will work in modern facilities within an automated, high-tech laboratory.

Responsibilities

You will work with sample handling and analysis, gaining the opportunity to use your knowledge and develop in many interesting areas. We offer a wide range of analyses across several processes, including hematology, coagulation, general chemistry, immunochemistry, proteins, allergies, drugs, and toxicology.

About You

We are looking for you who have a university education with a natural science focus, such as a biomedical scientist, medical biologist, or chemist. Previous experience in laboratory diagnostics and work in accredited operations is an advantage.

The work requires you to be structured and quality-conscious. You must be able to take independent responsibility for tasks while having good collaboration skills and contributing to a positive work climate. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
