As an operator at the 135th Security Squadron, you will work within the military security service, focusing on the collection of security intelligence aimed at indicating and identifying suspected security threats to the Swedish Armed Forces' protected values.

In this position, you will work on a highly relevant task with a constantly changing threat landscape. The work is long-term and conducted with high discretion. As a person, you should be patient, result-oriented, and possess a high ability for creative thinking.

Main Responsibilities

The daily work is varied and includes everything from training and education to the execution of operational activities. Parts of the work are carried out without a dog, which means that as a dog handler, you need to have competence in several areas.

The employment begins with an approximately 6-month basic course. After a successful result, you will be placed as a dog handler. After the basic course, position-specific training begins, where you, as a dog handler, will spend time adapting the team to the unit's tasks.

Requirements

• Completed and approved military basic training
• Category B driver's license
• Swedish citizenship
• Completed and approved results in accordance with FMFysS
• Approved result on selection tests after a weighted assessment
• Approved patrol dog handler training (at the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish Police Authority)
• Completed at least one (1) approved competency test (at the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish Police Authority)

Meritorious Qualifications

• Further education in dog service at the Swedish Armed Forces or similar organization
• Work in security unit service or intelligence service at the Swedish Armed Forces or similar organization
• Experience and/or education in covert collection in terrain and urban environments
• Completed and approved military police training

Other Information

• Employment type: GSS agreement
• Location: Kungsängen, Life Guards (Livgardet)
• During the recruitment process, selection tests according to the above requirements will be conducted over four days. The test will be physically and mentally demanding, and you should not drive a car on the Sunday after the test.
• Test dates: 2026-12-03–06, tests are conducted near the Life Guards
• Employment start: 1/9 2027. We apply the Swedish Armed Forces' rules regarding a 6-month probationary period.

The Life Guards (Livgardet) is one of the Swedish Armed Forces' largest units with roots dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel who will conduct international missions. We guard the royal castles, we have security and ground combat units. We are also responsible for preserving and developing the Swedish military music tradition. Our headquarters is in Kungsängen outside Stockholm, but we are also located in Sollentuna, central Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Karlskrona.
