At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of today's major societal challenges – migration. We are approximately 6,000 employees in total, and we have an unusually important job!
Do you want to contribute to strengthening the resilience of one of Sweden's key government agencies?
We are now looking for a Readiness Expert for our Security Department. Here, you will play a central role in developing civil defense and readiness work in close collaboration with operational activities.
The Security Department is part of the headquarters and has overall responsibility for security and readiness within the agency. Specialists at the Security Department work with information security, physical security, personnel security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, internal investigations, employee protection, and other security matters ranging from operational security to classified security.
Main Responsibilities
As an expert, you work with issues related to readiness and civil defense that can be linked to the Swedish Migration Agency's responsibilities in this area. This largely concerns population movements across borders, as well as capacity-building measures to increase the Agency's resilience during societal disruptions and when readiness levels are raised. The position is at a strategic level, meaning you will be involved in planning the operations and shaping their content. This includes leading and working in various working groups and projects, as well as contributing to the development of risk and vulnerability analyses/assessments. The role should also contribute to the Agency developing its wartime organization, ensuring that training and exercises are conducted, and that the Agency's overall ability to handle crises and raised readiness is developed.
In your assignment, you will also handle official consultations, collaborate both internally and externally, and work in a group with other experts in the security and readiness field. Business travel will be a natural part of your work, and readiness duty may become relevant.
Who are you?
You work well with other people and relate to them in an attentive and flexible manner. You think strategically and have a broad perspective on issues. You are driven and unpretentious, have a solution-oriented approach, and take initiative. You have the ability to see the long-term significance and further consequences of matters and adapt your actions accordingly. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and can quickly change your viewpoint and approach. Furthermore, you are an excellent representative for the Security Department in both internal and external contexts and can build good relationships both within and outside the agency.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on good judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
Requirements
- An academic degree in social sciences or with a focus on security, risk and crisis management, or other education combined with current and relevant experience for the position.
- Experience of collaboration with or within the public sector in the field of readiness and/or security.
- Experience of working with analysis and method development.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Swedish citizenship.
Merits
- Experience of working with operational development, such as normative documents and investigative work.
- Experience of operational crisis management/staff work.
- Experience of change management and/or follow-up work in the areas of continuity management, wartime organization, crisis management, and/or risk and vulnerability analyses.
- Experience of planning and conducting exercises and training within the readiness field.
- Knowledge of and experience in leading projects, preferably within crisis preparedness and total defense.
- Experience of working in public or state operations.
