The LSS department is the third largest department within the welfare administration. Our mission is to implement decisions made under the LSS Act, primarily decisions regarding housing with special service, personal assistance, and day activities. The goal of our support is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in society, so that individuals who are granted an intervention have the opportunity to live like everyone else.

Our work is characterized by individually tailored support with high quality and respect for self-determination, where a good attitude permeates all activities. We are now looking for an engaged and goal-oriented support assistant for Björkgläntan's service housing!

Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you provide practical and pedagogical support in the individual's daily life, both at home and out in the community. The work is always based on the individual's needs, wishes, and self-determination. You work with everything from personal care, daily chores, and medication administration to leisure activities, structure in daily life, and communication. Together with your colleagues, you work to create security, participation, and quality of life for the people you support. Building trusting relationships with users, showing a good attitude, and being a good role model are part of the job.

You are responsible for creating and following up on implementation plans, other social documentation, and other administrative tasks and areas of responsibility, such as scheduling, purchase orders, and matters concerning health and safety, together with the user.

You drive development work forward together with colleagues according to established goals, methods, quality requirements, and other guidelines. Collaborating with the user's network, other staff, and other partners is also an important part of the work.

Qualifications

To work in healthcare and social care, you must be at least 18 years old. We are looking for you who have a high school diploma in either the Healthcare and Social Care program (with specialization in disability or psychiatry), the Child and Youth program (with a focus on social work or pedagogical work), or other equivalent education assessed by the employer as comparable.

Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required for the work to, among other things, communicate with users, perform care documentation, and receive medication delegation. Experience working in LSS or with people with disabilities is meritorious. We place great importance on personal suitability.

A driver's license, category B, is required for the position.

Working hours vary and include days, evenings, sleeping on-call, and weekend shifts. The position is currently located centrally in Örnsköldsvik at Björkgläntan's service housing.

We welcome knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
