Your future responsibilities

We are in an exciting phase where we are building our next-generation platform from the ground up. Over the past few years, we have laid the foundation, and now we are accelerating the work of gradually migrating intelligence and data from our previous environment to a modern, microservice-influenced architecture.

As a Senior Developer with us, you will be a key player in this transition. You will not only write code but also help design solutions that stand the test of time. We work agile and pragmatically: we sketch our API contracts in Swagger, implement with Spring Boot and Apache Camel, and adjust the design as we learn more along the way.

Your daily work involves owning the flow from end to end – from data modeling via JPA (against Oracle) to a responsive and well-built interface in React. You thrive in an environment where CI/CD via GitLab is a given and where your voice carries weight in discussions about architecture and system design.

Your future team

The development team currently consists of 13 employees, both permanent staff and consultants. The team works on new development and maintenance of the new platform we are building. The development is agile and in close collaboration with business developers and the developers managing the old platform.

The tech stack includes among other things:

  • Backend development in Java / Spring Boot / Apache Camel
  • Frontend development in React
  • GitLab for version control of code
  • Oracle as the database manager

Your background

We are looking for you who have a broad technical background. You have relevant academic education in IT or equivalent acquired experience that EKN assesses as equivalent.

You have:

  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot or similar frameworks: Several years of experience building stable and scalable backend services in a microservice environment.
  • Experience with JPA/Hibernate: You have a deep understanding of object-relational mapping, entity management, and how to write efficient repositories.
  • Frontend capability: You master React and have a good understanding of how to build components that provide a good user experience.
  • Pragmatic testing: You see unit tests as a natural part of development. You have the ability to find an appropriate test level where we ensure quality.
  • Very good language skills in Swedish (spoken and written) and good skills in English.

We consider it meritorious to have experience with:

  • Integration expertise: You are comfortable with Apache Camel and understand how to build routes that handle complex flows and error handling.
  • Version control & CI/CD: You see GitLab as your primary tool for automating tests and securing releases.
  • API design: You have an eye for good API design, enjoy sketching in Swagger/OpenAPI, and understand the importance of consistent contracts.
  • System migration: Experience moving functionality from legacy systems to new platforms is highly meritorious.

The position is a permanent placement located in Stockholm.
