Vårdcentral Avesta is one of the region's health centers located on the Avesta Hospital grounds. We have approximately 11,000 registered patients, and about 65 staff members work here across various professional categories, including doctors, nursing assistants, speech therapists, medical secretaries, nurses/community nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, midwives, and chiropodists.

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant at Vårdcentral Avesta, you will assist doctors at the doctor's clinic, staff the laboratory and perform blood draws, as well as work administratively with appointment booking and staff the reception. You will also have a nursing assistant clinic where you, as a nursing assistant, change catheters, perform simple wound dressings, audiograms, spirometry, etc. In addition, other tasks such as ordering supplies and unpacking consumables may occur.

The position is a fixed-term contract from 2026-08-17 to 2027-02-14.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Care and Nursing Program or the vocational package Care and Nursing at adult education.

Merits:

Information about the Job Title

From July 1, 2023, "nursing assistant" (undersköterska) is a protected job title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within care and nursing.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in care and nursing, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job at Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent employment with the title nursing assistant when the new rules came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can keep the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need a certificate of the protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
