About the Department

Imaging and Functional Medicine is a county clinic within Region Dalarna with operations at the county's hospitals. Here, we work together to offer modern diagnostics and contribute to good, close-to-home healthcare for the residents of Dalarna.

You will be offered a workplace with close collaboration, short decision-making paths, and good opportunities to influence operations. Avesta combines the proximity and quality of life of a small town with good transport links to the rest of the country. The radiology department has recently been expanded with modern facilities and an updated fleet of machines including conventional X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Job Description

Do you want to combine the proximity and influence of a smaller hospital with the opportunities of a larger one? We are now looking for a radiologist who wants to become part of our dedicated team and contribute to the development of future radiology in Dalarna.

Your primary placement will be at Avesta Hospital, a hospital where cooperation between departments is close, decision-making paths are short, and the opportunity to influence is great. At the same time, you are part of the entire radiology operations in Dalarna, with close collaboration and the possibility of working at the county hospital in Falun as well.

Here, you will have a varied daily routine involving both emergency and scheduled operations. You will work broadly within radiology while having access to the expertise and development opportunities available within the larger county clinic. Interventions radiology and nuclear medicine are among the activities carried out at Falu Hospital.

We know that work-life balance is important. Therefore, we offer, by agreement, the possibility of remote reading as part of the position. The clinic also uses external on-call reading via Teleconsult during on-call hours. For the position in Avesta, there is no night on-call duty; the on-call period ends at 21:00, and parts of the on-call assignment can be performed remotely.

Our operations perform modern and high-tech diagnostics with a wide range of examinations for both emergency and planned care. We continuously work with development, quality, and improvement, and see further education as a natural part of the assignment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Swedish medical license and specialist competence in radiology
• Good experience with conventional X-ray, ultrasound, and computed tomography (CT)

Merits:

• Experience with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
