The Swedish Tourist Association operates nine mountain stations
We are immediately seeking a kitchen assistant/food enthusiast mountain host for the kitchen at Saltoluokta Mountain Station. You enjoy being of service and want to deliver world-class guest service. Start date by agreement. Read more about the facilities here.
Life at a mountain station is varied, exciting, and educational – just like a day on the mountain can be. In addition to accommodation, food, and nature experiences, our operations are built on human connections. In our meetings with guests, we create memories, share knowledge, and offer experiences beyond the ordinary.
The restaurant visit is a major part of the stay with us, and it is important to us to offer well-cooked meals made from quality ingredients with good hospitality. As a kitchen assistant, you are part of ensuring every guest has a memorable overall experience. Game meat, organic, and locally sourced products are important choices for us. What does the role involve?Plan, prepare, and cook food
Present food in an appealing way
Optionally support the mountain station with other tasks
We often work in small teams where flexibility and initiative are important. The positions are versatile and involve several areas of responsibility.
Who are you?Have experience in large-scale kitchens and cooking
Have a burning interest in food and a desire to learn more
A team player who wants to be part of a great team
Responsible and keen to contribute to the overall experience for our guests
Good knowledge of Swedish and/or English
You need to be good at collaborating and appreciate living communally, as we both live and work together
Advantageous if you have experience as a chef and basic knowledge of food safety, self-control, and HACCP
Employment type: Seasonal employment: start in July through September
Work hours: 85-100%
Monthly salary according to collective agreement: Visita/HRF's Green National Agreement and Tourist Supplement
Work schedule follows the needs of the business, involving work on weekdays and weekends, during the day and evening
Meal deduction according to collective agreement, regulated by the Swedish Tax Agency
Staff accommodation in exchange for a rent deduction, living together with colleagues at the mountain station
Internal training relevant to your role, e.g., sustainability & hospitality
