Parkskolan is a municipal school covering grades 4–9, as well as after-school activities for grades 4–6. There are currently 350 students at the school. The school is located within a convenient walking distance from the center of Östersund and borders a park-like area. At Parkskolan, we work daily to develop our operations, including through collegial learning and relational leadership. We are now looking for a Student Assistant at 80% – someone with a good attitude and a strong commitment to the students, who wants to make a difference in everyday life!

Responsibilities

The position is primarily located in classes at the middle school level (grades 4–6). As a student assistant, you will contribute to a calmer and safer school environment throughout the students' entire school day and in all the social situations they encounter. You will work with clear relational leadership and preventive measures by setting boundaries in accordance with the school's rules and values.

The work involves many varied tasks, such as:

• Being a support, both pedagogical and social, throughout the students' and classes' entire school day.
• Collaborating with teachers and other school staff.
• Having contact and collaborating with guardians.
• Contributing to our joint development work.

Qualifications

You have completed the Child and Youth Recreation Program or a corresponding student assistant education. You have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Previous experience working with children in need of special support is an advantage.

As a person, we are looking for you who are a secure and clear adult, with a good understanding that many students need support both in knowledge development and in social interaction to succeed in their school day. You are flexible, calm, and confident in your professional role, with the ability to prioritize the student's best interests. It is of great importance that you can create good, secure relationships, set boundaries, and work independently. At the same time, the position places high demands on collaboration skills, as it involves close cooperation with students, colleagues, and guardians.

The position is a fixed-term employment at 80% for the period August 10 to December 18, 2026 (with the possibility of extension if the need persists).
