About Us

Child Health Services Sörmland is a county-wide operation consisting of two units: the psychology clinic for parental and child health services, and the child health services development unit. Here you will find psychologists, chief physicians in child health services, care developers, speech therapists, dietitians, administrators, and unit managers. The units are part of the Health Services Staff, which is one of the Regional Director's support teams. You are offered a varied role with great opportunities to influence.

Child Health Services has a health-promoting and preventive mandate focused on promoting the health of children (0–6 years), preventing ill health, and taking early action regarding problems concerning the child's health and immediate environment.

The psychology clinic consists of 12 psychologist positions located in Nyköping and Eskilstuna. We offer an stimulating work community, a varied clinical and consultative role, and engagement in operational development.

Your Responsibilities

Your main task will be health-promoting and preventive healthcare. You will serve as a contact psychologist, meaning you will provide expert support, training, and assistance to Child Health Services (BHV) nurses and midwives through close and accessible collaboration. Another key responsibility involves providing support, counseling, and short-term treatment to expectant and new parents. You will conduct developmental assessments of children's development and mental health.

You will work independently but have good access to collegial support, including through regular case conferences. Continuous supervision by an experienced external psychologist is offered, providing great opportunities for professional development alongside your colleagues. There is also the possibility of digital work for both meetings and patient contacts.

You will contribute to method development within the field of child health services and collaborate with other organizations working with child families and young children.

Your Qualifications

For this position, we are looking for a licensed psychologist for our clinic in Nyköping. It is very important to us that you have a strong interest in preventive and health-promoting work in the field of children and parents. If you have experience working with children and parents as well as consultative work, we consider this advantageous. Knowledge/training in Circle of Security (COS-P) is also advantageous as this is one of the group therapies we offer at the clinic. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
