Do you want to help create the school of the future in Arboga? We are now looking for an engaged special educator or special needs teacher who wants to contribute to the students' learning, security, and development at Gäddgårdsskolan.

Arboga Municipality is investing in a new and modern primary school where teaching, student health services, and accessible learning environments are at the center. At the current Gäddgårdsskolan, an inspiring school environment is emerging with home classrooms for all grades, an adapted primary school, a full-size sports hall, as well as artistic decoration in both indoor and outdoor areas.

Here, you will have an important role in developing teaching and creating good conditions for all students to succeed. You will become part of an operation where collaboration, engagement, and pedagogical development are highly valued.

Responsibilities

As a special educator or special needs teacher, you have a central role in the school's student health team. You work both operationally close to the activities and strategically in developing student health processes, the quality of teaching, and the school's work with support measures.

The assignment involves supporting students' knowledge development and personal development, as well as mentoring and guiding educators in the work with extra adjustments, special support, and accessible learning environments. You work closely with school leadership, teachers, and other functions within student health and contribute to a preventive and health-promoting approach.

The role also includes quality assurance of documentation, pedagogical investigations, action plans, and follow-up of support measures. You are a secure collaboration partner to the school leadership and an important link between the student health team and the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a special educator or special needs teacher and have experience of teaching in primary school. You have a good ability to see students' different needs and to contribute with solutions at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to be secure in your profession, have clear pedagogical leadership, and be accustomed to collaborating with different professional groups. You have good communication skills, are responsible, and feel secure in documenting, following up, and developing support measures.

We would appreciate it if you have experience in mentoring teachers regarding teaching and adjustments for students in need of support, as well as good competence in working with action plans and special support.
