The Swedish Fortification Agency is looking for a specialist in project support with a focus on construction and engineering. We are looking for you who have extensive experience in building construction and currently work as a designer, building technology specialist, project engineer, or consultant. The Project Department is responsible for the user-related construction investments of the Swedish Fortification Agency. The department currently has approximately 225 employees and is divided into three divisions with operational units, a project support unit, a staff unit, and a design unit.

The Project Support Unit is tasked with supporting the line organization in varied and complex projects and assignments with specialist competence in several technical areas.

Your daily life as a specialist in Construction/Engineering

The position of specialist in project support with a focus on construction/engineering is part of the establishment of a new group within the Project Support Unit in Gothenburg. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and other specialists to contribute technical competence and ensure quality in the Swedish Fortification Agency's projects.

Your main tasks involve supporting internal project managers, interpreting client requirements, acting as a sounding board for designers and consultants, and reviewing documents at various stages of the construction process.

You will primarily work with:

• Reviewing construction documents and technical solutions.
• Advising on building construction through the various phases of projects.
• Dialogue with project managers, consultants, and contractors.
• Evaluating technical solutions based on requirements, quality, and feasibility.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other specialists and disciplines within the unit. The position involves working on security-classified projects and facilities, as well as travel within Sweden.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in civil engineering or higher education in engineering with a focus on building construction.
• At least 10 years of experience in relevant tasks within building construction.
• Broad experience of different types of construction projects and the various stages of the construction process.
• Experience in calculations and the preparation of construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and a valid Class B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in complex project environments and reviewing construction documents or technical solutions.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned to wartime duties. The location is Gothenburg. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. Security screening with register check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
