The Child and Education Administration in Vimmerby Municipality is responsible for all pedagogical activities, from preschool to university, and is also responsible for Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and societal orientation for newly arrived refugees. Astrid Lindgren School is a compulsory school (grades 1-9) divided into two units, grades 1-6 and 7-9, with a total of approximately 500 students. Astrid Lindgren School is located centrally in Vimmerby. Rumskulla School is a school with 30 students. Rumskulla School is located in Rumskulla, approximately 2.5 miles west of Vimmerby. The core of the operations is Astrid Lindgren; her person and values permeate the children's first six school years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educator, your focus lies in guiding and supporting teachers, work teams, and school leadership. You analyze and develop the school's learning environments to prevent problems and promote inclusion, investigation, and development. Through teaching students individually or in groups, you contribute to students achieving as high goal fulfillment as possible based on their capacity.

As a special educator, you assist teachers in conducting screenings and analyze the results. You work to contribute to increased teaching quality through guidance of staff. You identify risks that may lead to difficulties in the student's learning and knowledge development, and design preventive and promoting measures. You are also helpful to teachers in the work with pedagogical investigations.

Together with your colleagues, you analyze students' knowledge development and suggest measures and changes to teachers. Your task is to create the best opportunities for students, guardians, and colleagues to thrive, feel secure, and receive a good education based on the students' needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of special educator, we are looking for you who have a strong pedagogical grounding and the ability to meet each student's unique needs.

Requirements:

• Education: You are a certified teacher at the core and have a degree in special education. Alternatively, you have another further education or degree that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Driver's License: Class B driver's license

Meritorious:

• Experience in similar work as a special educator within the school system.
• Experience in leading pedagogical investigations and conducting guidance for pedagogical staff.
