The position is 100% and also includes specific responsibility as the After-School Program Coordinator.
About Us
Kalmar Waldorf School is an independent F–9 school located in central Kalmar, near the County Hospital. Here, students develop in a calm and pleasant environment where knowledge, art, crafts, and social development go hand in hand. We strive to create a peaceful and stimulating environment where free play, social interaction, and a clear rhythm in daily life are at the center.
Waldorf pedagogy is based on the idea that learning takes place in practical, artistic, and concrete contexts. The cycle of the seasons and the year's holidays characterize our activities and influence everything from outdoor activities and craft projects to snacks and the pedagogical environment. We value natural and non-toxic materials and want to offer students a safe, beautiful, and inspiring environment where imagination, creativity, and curiosity can grow.

As a primary school teacher for the after-school program, you are an important part of the students' entire school day. You plan, implement, and evaluate the activities in the after-school program based on the curriculum and the students' needs. You are also an important actor in the school's safety work by being a present adult during breaks and in the students' daily lives, building relationships, preventing conflicts, and supporting the students' social interaction.
The assignment includes among other things:
- planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical activities of the after-school program,
- creating stimulating learning environments that awaken students' desire to play, explore, and learn,
- actively working with values, safety, and relationship building,

- contributing to increased study peace, safety, and goal achievement,
- leading break activities and being present in the students' daily lives,
- having ongoing dialogue with guardians,
- actively participating in the school's collegial work.
The Role of After-School Program Coordinator
As the After-School Program Coordinator, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical development and organization of the after-school program. You are responsible for planning and coordinating the activities together with your colleagues and lead the value-based work of the after-school program. You function as a unifying force in the work team and are an important contact person for the school management and guardians.
The assignment includes among other things:
- responsibility for the long-term planning and development of the after-school program,
- coordinating the activities and creating structure in the daily work,
- leading and following up on the after-school program's value-based work,
