The School of Economics and Business, one of five faculties at Linnaeus University, conducts research and education in business administration, economics, statistics, and tourism science. We contribute entrepreneurial thinking and sustainable solutions to complex organizational and societal problems. The School of Economics and Business is accredited by AACSB.

We are now looking for a Study and Career Counselor for the faculty office, which provides operational support to students, employees, and management. You will be part of an engaged and collaborative office consisting of approximately 30 employees. You will also become part of a team of three study and career counselors at the School of Economics and Business, where you will collaborate closely in daily work.

Job Description:

In this role, you will play a key part in the student's journey from admission to graduation. Your main areas of responsibility will include study counseling for students on the School of Economics and Business programs and standalone courses at the basic and advanced levels. The duties also include providing information about studies to prospective students, developing and implementing preventive measures for existing students, and keeping up to date with regulations and laws within the education sector. Processing and administration of individual student cases, as well as some educational administration, are included in the position.

The work requires close collaboration with our program and course coordinators, heads of department, and educational administration. As the faculty has a large proportion of international staff and students, communication takes place in both Swedish and English.

Qualifications:

We are looking for you with a degree in study and career counseling or other education that the employer considers equivalent, as well as experience in study counseling. For the position, good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required.

Meritorious is work experience from the higher education sector and experience working with the application of regulations, preferably with a connection to higher education. You should find it easy to learn new systems and have an interest in developing working methods using new technology.

Emphasis will be placed on your ability to plan and organize your work in a careful and efficient manner. You are self-reliant, responsible, and proactive, and thrive in collaboration and contributing to joint solutions. You are also solution-focused, non-hierarchical, have a professional attitude, and are clear in your communication.

We apply a flexible working method, and there are possibilities for remote work up to two days a week.

Terms of Employment:

Employment and scope: Permanent position, full-time

Start date: Start date by agreement. The university applies a six-month probationary period.

Location (permanent): Kalmar. The position involves work in both Kalmar and Växjö, and travel between locations occurs.
