Being able to support and empower, and to be there when parents meet their baby for the first time. That is what I get to do in my work as a midwife in the labor ward and maternity unit."

As a midwife with us at the labor ward, you will have the opportunity to work broadly with maternity care. There is an active change process underway related to working environment and increased staffing density of both midwives and nursing assistants. You will be part of the development of the operations and future women's healthcare, where we put women's and children's health on the map and create quality and value for our residents and for us as employees.

About us at the labor ward unit

We at the labor ward unit have approximately 3,000 births per year and handle deliveries from gestational week 28. The unit also has care beds for patients with high-risk pregnancies and pregnancy complications from gestational week 22. We have close cooperation within the operational area, and the goal is to provide quality and safe care in our handling of the patient. The unit includes the labor ward, emergency clinic for pregnant women, antenatal clinic for specialized mother care, Aurora clinic, and ultrasound activities.

Active participation in continuous improvement work and operational development at our unit is seen by us as a positive and important part of the job. Midwives, nursing assistants, doctors, and secretaries work in close teamwork at the unit. We are many experienced colleagues who get along well and support each other in daily work. The labor ward unit is an educational unit, which means that we supervise students.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed midwife, where experience in maternity care is meritorious. Since the work is characterized by cooperation and variation, we value your ability to collaborate, flexibility, and holistic view. It is also important that you have good communication skills and enjoy sharing your knowledge in supervision. You have the ability to see both needs and opportunities and raise your ideas to contribute to improving care, working methods, and working environment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
