At the Umeå dairy, we process Northern Swedish milk raw materials into a wide range of world-class dairy products. To ensure stable production and minimize production downtime, we are looking for additional Automation Technicians to help us secure the operation of our production equipment and initiate and implement technical improvements. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a varied environment with modern process equipment for both packaging machines and robots.

Your daily life with us

In your role as an Automation Technician, you support production and ensure safe and continuous manufacturing through planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our production lines. You are part of an automation team, report to the Automation Manager, and work closely with other automation technicians, mechanical technicians, and maintenance engineers. You also collaborate internally with production managers, technicians, project managers, and colleagues in other departments.

Your daily tasks include:

• Performing repairs and troubleshooting of automatic machines, process equipment, control systems, PLC and SCADA systems, valves, motors, pumps, and pneumatics.
• Preparing, prioritizing, and resolving incoming issues, often in collaboration with production and engineering, involving troubleshooting, corrective actions, design, and commissioning.
• Initiating and implementing technical improvements to ensure stable production and minimize production losses.
• Improving and developing methods, systems, and working practices to ensure production availability.
• Working in the maintenance system IFS, where work orders and preventive maintenance are planned and managed.
• Participating in certain projects and attending inspections according to regulatory requirements.

Who are you?

You have at least a high school education in automation technology or equivalent, preferably with a focus on technology, process, automation, control engineering, or equivalent.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have a few years of experience from manufacturing industry, process, or food industry, along with an interest in technology and automation. You should have good knowledge of processes and experience with preventive maintenance. A valid B-driver's license is also required.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, robot programming, Excel, and other Office programs, as well as experience working in maintenance systems, preferably IFS. Training in Hot Work, fall protection, and rescue from tanks is considered an advantage. A C-driver's license and forklift license are also advantageous.

You will have many contact points, so your social skills are important. You are receptive and view collaboration within and between departments positively. You handle and convey information in a simple and understandable way, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English, both internally and externally.
