The Education Administration in Åstorp Municipality is undergoing reorganization. Starting from autumn 2026, we have chosen to work in team-oriented forms of operation, with teams complementing each other, to foster stronger collaboration. As the Service Manager for Kitchen and Cleaning, you will work together with principals to ensure long-term quality, efficiency, and future goal achievement.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as Service Manager for Kitchen and Cleaning, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, and economy within your department. You lead and distribute work among approximately 27 employees in the kitchen and cleaning operations and are responsible for daily operational work. Your task is to ensure that daily routines function smoothly, quality remains high, and employees receive support in their daily work. Leadership, operational development, and employee working conditions are important parts of the role.

You play a central role in translating operational goals into practical results. With a focus on quality, participation, responsibility, and balanced economics, you drive an operation in constant development with the goal of leading and working in a sustainable organization.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare meals with a focus on quality and dining joy.
  • Lead and distribute the daily work in the kitchens and cleaning operations.
  • Create structure and good organization within the operations.
  • Work with self-control and safe food handling.
  • Document according to current routines.
  • Promote sustainable development by, among other things, minimizing "food waste".

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have education within the hotel and restaurant industry and relevant work experience. A chef education or documented experience as a chef, as well as experience working in school kitchens or large-scale kitchens, is meritorious. You have an interest in preparing tasty and nutritious meals, and you value the importance of good service and a positive attitude. You have good knowledge of hygiene regulations and relevant legislation.

You have experience as a manager and have a strong operational focus and a good holistic view. You have knowledge of economics, are clear, structured, and responsive with good collaboration skills. You build trust, create engagement, and thrive in a role where development and improvement are a natural part of everyday life. You are confident in your managerial role and lead with a trust-based approach that promotes participation and responsibility.

You also have IT skills, possess good communication skills, and have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

According to the School Act, a certificate of no criminal record from the Police is required for employment in preschools, schools, and school-age care. Åstorp Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting, taking into account the employee's experience, competence, and current market conditions. An annual salary review is conducted where employees are salaried based on our salary criteria: clarity, courage, responsiveness, engagement, and quality. In Åstorp Municipality, the employment is covered by the collective agreement "Allmänna Bestämmelser" (General Provisions).

Salary Type: Monthly salary.
Employment Type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date 2026-08-17.
Working Hours: Daytime.
